Statement of the President of the BPR Rada on the occasion of the Day of Heroes.

Traditionally, on the eve of honoring the heroes of the Slutsk uprising, chairman of the BPR Rada Ivonka Survilla issued a statement calling for a dignified celebration of the next anniversary of the Slutsk armed uprising, Radio Racyja reports.

"As every year, this autumn month, - the statement reads, - the Belarusians gratefully ppay tribute to their glorious Slutsk residents, who went to fight under the white-red-white flag for their land. They went to die in order to let Belarus live! ».

The statement also mentions the reburial of Kastus Kalinouski, which took place in Vilnius on November 22.

"Today I want you to hear his words of love for our Motherland and its people: "My brothers, dear men. From under the gallows of Moscow I have to write to you, and maybe for the last time! It is a great pain to leave the native land and you, my dear people. Heart aches, but it is not a pity to die for Your truth. Take my last word, my people, for it is written for your goodness only." And Yaska, the landowner from under Vilna, ends his letter to all of us with the well-known words: "For I am telling you from under the gallows that only then you will live happily, when Muscovites are no longer above you!" Although our state is independent, it is still led by all the enemies of our freedom. So remember "the last word" of our hero, dear compatriots, because it is written only for the good of our country!" LONG LIVE BELARUS!
