"Belarusians See In Their Wallets Results Of Dictatorship"

Where has Lukashenka led the country to?

There is only one Constitution in Belarus. But one can look at it in different ways. So, for example, just a while ago activists found three violations of the country's main law in Lukashenka's actions, and now the "parliament" has informed that everything was according to the law, Belsat journalist Stsiapan Sviatlou writes. What has higher priority in our country – the decree of the ruler, the main law or ... the telephone law?

"It is just not realistic to carry out in practice a dictatorship in Belarus," – Lukashenka said recently.

However, it is possible. Thus, the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party has detected as many as three violations of the Constitution in the actions of the head of the country. First, the main law of the country gives the ruler the right to appoint a prime minister only with the consent of the "House of Representatives" (Article 84 Par. 6). Secondly, the "House of Representatives" must first agree to this (Article 97 Par. 4). And the "deputies" are given up to two weeks for consideration(Article 106).

The post of the "president" has acquired in Belarus the functions of a monarch following the results of the 1996 "referendum" initiated by Lukashenka. The new Constitution guaranteed him unlimited power. The results of those changes we see today both in the streets, and in the purses.
