Public activist Nina Bahinskaya, a defender of Kurapaty, was detained in Minsk during a picket of solidarity with political prisoners.

Chairman of the In Defense of Kurapaty public committee Hanna Shaputska informed Radio Svaboda about it. According to her, Nina Bahinskaya was detained near the KGB during a one-person picket.

– She stood in front of the committee building with the poster "Freedom to Political Prisoners" for about 40 minutes. She demanded freedom for political prisoners Dzmitry Palienka, Illia Valavik, Sviataslau Baranovich, Mikhail Zhamchuzhny, Dzmitry Halko and the defenders of Kurapaty: Pavel Seviarynets, Volha Nikalaichyk, Dzianis Urbanovich. I know that riot policemen drove up, detained her and took to a police department. I believe, to the Tsentralny district police department, – Hanna Shaputsko said.

Nina Bahinskaya held a picket near the KGB building on Independence Avenue not for the first time. Last time, the activist came out with a poster "Freedom to the People" in April 2017, after the mass arrests of Freedom Day rally participants, for which she was fined 50 basic units.
