Leu Marholin: As Long As Lukashenka Rules, We Will "Fight For Harvest"

What happens to agriculture in Belarus?

The republican budget will allocate an additional $ 30 million to local budgets, to make it possible for the agricultural enterprises to pay off debts to the Minsk automobile and tractor factories for the equipment supplied in 2015.

The authorities allocated a large sum of money for a dubious project. The economist Leu Marholin commented on the next investment of Belarusian officials and the situation with agriculture in Belarus to the Charter97.org site:

– Such investments of money are a rudiment and atavism. On the one hand, the authorities are trying to help MTZ, which has nowhere to sell its equipment, and unprofitable enterprises, unable to pay. Such funds will successfully be writen down, as it was done before.

Agriculture in Belarus is subject to special attention. There are several sacred symbols for Lukashenka – border troops and agriculture, where his career began. Therefore, he will try to do his best to attach special importance to these spheres. Thus, he tries to exalt himself. As long as Lukashenka is in power, we will "fight for the harvest" and there will be tractors and harvesters on parades.
