This is the 28th penalty imposed on the political prisoner by the administration of the Horki penal colony.

The Human Rights Center "Viasna" learned that political prisoner Mikhail Zhamchuzhny, who was previously placed in the cell type room of the penal colony # 9 in Horki for two months, has now been sentenced to 10 days of punitive confinement while serving this sentence. This is the 28th penalty imposed on Zhamchuzhny by the administration of the Horki penal colony since August 2017.

The punishment in the form of 10 days in punitive confinement was imposed on the political prisoner on June 1. On the eve, on May 31, during the prosecutor's check of the colony, Mikhail Zhamchuzhny, in the presence of the prosecutor, filed a written application in the name of the deputy head of the penal colony # 9 asking him for an opportunity to familiarize with some of the materials of his criminal case concerning the responses of state bodies to his complaints (previously he was refused such an opportunity). The administration on the same day allowed him to study the requested materials, but on the following morning he was presented a reprimand. The political prisoner regards this as punishment for appealing to the prosecutor.

On June 1, the supervisors came to Zhamchuzhny and demanded an explanation why he did not go to bed the previous night at 22:02, but sat on the bed, for which he was eventually punished with 10 days in punitive confinement. The formal reason was "failure to follow the shutdown command." Thus, Mikhail Zhamchuzhny will leave the cell-type premises on June 19 instead of June 9.

Mikhail Zhamchuzhny still notes problems with correspondence. The complaint to the Mahiliou regional prosecutor's office regarding the non-letting of letters from the colony, sent to them on May 18, was notconsidered by the prosecutor's office at merits, but was forwarded to the Mahiliou regional department of the corrections department for consideration. There has been no answer to it yet. The number of letters written and sent by the political prisoner, the fate of which remains unknown to him, has reached 35.
