The special services of Belarus tried to recruit the Ukrainian. The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine reported this in Fasebook on April 25, Gordon writes.

The resident of the Chernihiv region occasionally traveled to Belarus to visit relatives.

"During the next trip, the Ukrainian was detained by law enforcement agencies in that country for alleged violation of the rules of trade. At the same time, representatives of the Belarusian KGB (State Security Committee) threatened the Ukrainian with criminal prosecution and demanded that the man provided them information about military installations in the border area," – the SSU reported.

The man, returning to Ukraine, told the SSU about the attempted recruitment.

The SSU noted that, Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment for treason, however, the Ukrainian did not fulfill the tasks of the foreign special services and reported about them to the SSU, so the court released him from criminal liability.
