Neither the "speaker" nor the listeners were showing much enthusiasm.

On April 24, the dictator addressed with a "message to the people and parliament" in the "oval hall" of the government house, Salidarnasts writes. The speech lasted almost 1.5 hours.

During the live broadcast, judging by the BT picture, both before Lukashenka's arrival in the hall and during his speech, those present were by and large silent. No conversations, no replicas, no laughter (as before), no pauses for applause. At one point, the head of the ruler’s administration, Natallia Kachanava, rose up and wanted to say something, but literally in a couple of seconds she sat down and did not speak out.
