BPR And Minsk: Birth Of New Capital

  • 6.03.2018, 7:37

Thanks to the founding fathers of BPR, the center of the Belarusian movement moved from Vilnius to Minsk.

After a large German offensive in 1915, Minsk became a front-line city, its population was growing rapidly due to visiting military and civil servants and refugees from the Belarusian territories occupied by the Germans, Belsat reports.

It is no coincidence that in the end of 1917, at the beginning of 1918, fateful events of the country's history took place in this city, and Minsk became the new Belarusian capital.
