Vorsha Activist: Non-Parasites March Participants’ Self-Trust Is Restored

  • 14.03.2018, 12:12

Last spring, the most massive protest rally in the last 20 years was held in Vorsha.

On March 12, a year had passed since the mass protests against the decree on "parasites" held in Vorsha, Radio Racyja reports.

Chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Party in Vorsha and public activist Ihar Kazmiarchak has told us about the events of that day:

– That day was something incredible. Vorsha residents believed in themselves emotionally, believed that they could do something themselves. People gathered by themselves. And even if someone called for the abolition of these protests at that time, people would come out all the same. It didn’t depend on politicians any more.

According to Vorsha residents, there hadn’t been such mass rallies gathering more than 1,000 people in their town for nearly twenty years.
