The European Belarus activist advised the judge to read the country's Constitution.

Protesters against a battery factory were convicted in Brest today. Andrei Sharenda, the activist of the civil campaign European Belarus, was fined with 15 basic units (367.5 rubles) for participating in an unauthorized “mass rally.”

The activist stated at the trial:

“Protocols look like carbon copies. I plead not guilty. The right to a peaceful assembly is guaranteed to me by the Constitution and international law, therefore I see no reason to participate in this farce,” – Viasna cites Andrei Sharenda.

The police officer Ruzhanski was "witnessing" at the trial.
