Mikhail Zhamchuzhny: I’m Fighting With Colony Administration Successfully

  • 18.10.2018, 10:51

The political prisoner does not lose optimism.

In a postcard that Vitsebsk human rights activist Leanid Svetsik recently received from the correctional colony No. 9, political prisoner Mikhail Zhamchuzhny reports on what grounds the operatives destroy his correspondence. Vitsebsk Viasna writes about this.

“I regret, but letters to you are destroyed under handover acts by the operative officers of correctional colony No. 9 for they allegedly “cause harm to the legally protected rights of state bodies, public associations and individual citizens,” – Mikhail Zhamchuzhny wrote in a postcard on October 10.

He clarifies that for the same reason letters to Leanid Svetsik, dated September 25 and October 8, were destroyed.

“From September 20, out of 27 sent letters, 16 have already been destroyed. In May 2018, out of 32 sent ones, 20 were destroyed,” – the political prisoner sums up.

“I will write again, please wait!” – Zhamchuzhny does not lose optimism.

At parting, he assures: “I am fine. I’m successfully fighting with the administration.”

We remind that in a letter received in early October, Mikhail Zhamchuzhny said that he was going to appeal against the torture and research that is being done on him in the colony in the Supreme Court.
