The President of Poland has met with representatives of national minorities.

On Monday, Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agatha Korngauzer-Duda took part in the New Year's meeting with representatives of different faiths and national and ethnic minorities in Poland.

"A lot of generations, despite the language and religion, fought for Rzeczpospolita, for Poland to be free and independent," – Andrzej Duda said.

He noted that today Poland guarantees security, peace and the opportunity for normal life, Radio Racyja reports.

"The Polish military cemeteries are a great symbol of the community of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth citizens. (...) There one can find graves with both Latin and Orthodox inscriptions, with the crescent or the Star of David – and these soldiers lie next to each other, as they used to fight together," – Andrzej Duda said.
