Videofact: Explosion At CHPP-4 In Minsk

Several districts of Minsk and the region stayed without light and water for several hours because of the explosion.

This is a video of the explosion at Central Heating and Power Plant -4 in Minsk on Wednesday, September 6. It was made on a dashboard camera and posted by abw.by.

Now we know the exact time of the incident, because of which several districts of the capital and the Minsk region were left without light and water – 10:47:20. The video clearly shows the column of fire and smoke rising above the CHPP.

Minskenerha explaines that the accident happened because of a sudden shutdown of the equipment – the transformer of the voltage system had been ruptured. However, there was no fire. The consequences of the incident were eliminated in an hour and a half.
