Belarusian Artist Mikalai Mayeuski Died

The artist was one of the organizers of the first rally-requiem in Brest on Dzyady-1989.

He died on September 10.

Mikalai Mayeuski was a maestro of still lifes and picturesque landscapes. Most of his works are devoted to the Belavezhskaya Pushcha - the place of his birth, work and inspiration, nn.by writes.

Mikalai Mayeuski was born on March 1, 1950 in the Dvarets village in the Kamianets district of the Brest region. It is here that the artist painted a large number of paintings. His works were exhibited abroad: in the USA, Sweden, Germany, France, Japan, Turkey.

The artist was one of the organizers of the first rally-requiem in Brest on Dzyady-1989. In addition, he became one of the founders of the local BPF office (he was a member of the regional and city Council of the BPF), took part in the founding congress of the BPF in Vilnius.
