Former Swedish Ambassador To Belarus Stefan Eriksson Heads Nordic Council Of Ministers’ Office In Latvia

Stefan Eriksson spent seven years in our country and won the respect of Belarusians.

Stefan Eriksson, who was the Ambassador of Sweden to Belarus for a long time, became the new head of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia.

As the Office's website reported, Eriksson took office on August 1, Radio Svaboda reports.

Stefan Eriksson spent seven years in Belarus with his wife and children. He was the first head of the Swedish diplomatic mission abroad. He learned the Belarusian language, became friends with writers, poets and musicians and managed to win the love of Belarusians. In 2012, the Belarusian authorities decided not to extend diplomatic accreditation for Eriksson.
