Today at the "pedagogical council" Lukashenka demanded that the teachers should stop complaining about low wages next year.

What is the situation with the Belarusian state employees and why the professions of teachers and doctors have lost their prestige – the website Сharter97.org asked the former Minister of Labor and Social Protection Aliaksandr Sasnou these questions:

– Salaries of state employees are criminally low, they cannot be even compared with the salaries in the neighboring countries. In a state in which one person manages and rules, those who are most needed are the ones who are benefited. He once promised to raise the wealth status of the teachers, but we all see how the things really are. He sponsors only those whom he needs in order to keep the throne. That's why only law enforcers and Lukashenka's lapdogs have risen their wealth status. In our country, no one wants to become teachers and doctors, everyone wants to go to the police. And as for his "appeal" to teachers – it's just weird. A good leader will not allow himself such a thing.
