Lukashenka: Study Chinese

Lukashenka supported the proposal on a broader study of the Chinese language in Belarus. He has stated that today at the meeting on the priorities of Belarus' foreign policy at the current stage, BelTA informs.

"I absolutely support you. All your proposals will not only be taken into account, but decisions will be taken on them. Make sure that by September all these decisions have been formalized, starting with the study of the Chinese language (we are really late here), up to the tourism mentioned here," – the head of state said, reacting to the report of Belarus' Ambassador to China Kiryl Rudy.

The diplomat mentioned the language barrier among the problems that hamper the effective development of cooperation. This is especially true in connection with the fact that all the product tolerances on the Chinese market – applications, contracts – are formalized in Chinese, but there are not enough experts in this field. "Today it already has become a necessity for everyone. In many countries, Chinese language has become, if not on the same basis as English, then the second foreign language. In this regard, it is proposed to increase its study both in our schools and in universities," – the ambassador said.
