The European Union will continue the policy of critical interrelationship with Belarus.

The EU will closely monitor some of the investigations in Belarus, including the White Legion case. Head of the EU Delegation in Belarus Andrea Victorin informed tut.by about that on the sidelines of expert consultations between the Foreign Ministry and human rights defenders.

– We continue the policy of critical interrelationship with Belarus, and we will talk about human rights. But sometimes it's better to do during direct negotiations, not publicly," – the head of the EU mission said.

– We closely follow the situation and move step by step. The existing projects are being carried out. But our cooperation does not mean only the financial support, but also common values as well. If we are talking about the rule of law, I want to see how some investigations are going on, what the courts and outcomes will be like ...

– Do you mean the White Legion case?"

– For example, yes. And we will follow it closely.

– Are there any red lines for the Belarusian authorities?

– I do not like to talk about the red lines and do not want to see the worst scenarios. If something happens, I will comment on it, and the EU will do it as well. And now we are watching for what will happen.

The European Union stressed in its statement on April 4, that the actions of the Belarusian authorities, including preventive arrests on the eve and the large number of arrests and detentions of peaceful demonstrators on March 25, were indiscriminate and inappropriate.
