The Interior Ministry Commented on Detention of Drunken Chief of the Stolin ROVD

The Ministry notes that the Police Lieutenant Colonel was detained during a planned raid.

The head of the Stolin ROVD was detained for driving under the influence of alcohol. Kanstantyn Shalkevich, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Interior Ministry of Belarus, confirmed information to tut.by.

- Such raids are continuous and planned. They are carried out by employees of the central department of the Interior Ministry. In this case, the detention was carried out by the Directorate of Ideological Work and Personnel, traffic police and the Directorate-General for the Internal Security of the Interior Ministry, Kanstantyn Shalkevich stressed.

The Interior Ministry points out that the department's management and the entire department has taken a fundamentally strict stance towards staff members who committed a defamatory action.

- Regardless of ranks and merits, a staff member who has been stopped while driving under the influence of alcohol will be surely dismissed and subject to the punishment in accordance with the Administrative Code.

It will be recalled that 42 year-old chief of the Stolin ROVD Vyachyslau Filipchyk drove the car being drunk on April 22. Traffic police and the Directorate-General for the Internal Security of the Interior Ministry carried out the detention. At the moment of the detention, Police Lieutenant Colonel Vyachyslau Filipchyk was on vacation and wore plain clothes. He was driving Land Rover owned by his wife. The alcohol level is unknown.
