‘They Are Picking Seeds!’: Women Forced To Clean Paving Flagstones Near Court Building In Salihorsk

An unusual “subbotnik” took place in the ‘town of miners” this Friday.

Activist from Salihorsk Viktar Malochka came across a weird occurrence today in the afternoon near the building of the district court: about a dozen of women were bending over the pavement and scrubbed the "seams" between the paving flagstones with small scrapers. A"guard" was walking between them.

There followed a dialogue, which the activist published at his Facebook page.

- What are you doing here? – the activist asked the ladies.

- It’s subbotnik tomorrow.

- What are you picking at there?

- They are picking seeds! – the lady-boss, who wasn’t bending over the pavement but walking among the workers, replied.

- Are you a supervisor?

- No, I am not.

- What is your name?

- I don’t have a name.
