A Villager Sentenced to Correction Works for Refusal to Show Documents

An incident took place last November in the village of Verbovichy, Naraulyany district.

Drunken local man allegedly insulted border guards to the request to present documents authorizing presence in the border zone, the press-service of the Border Control Committee informs.

The criminal proceedings under Article 369 CC of Belarus (insult of representative of authority) are initiated.

On January 31 32 year-old villager was tried. The verdict is a year of correctional tasks with 15% withholding of earnings.

In general, according to the State Border Committee of Belarus, during 2016 there were recorded more than ten cases of disobedience to the authority at the Mozyr border area.

However, the guilty were administratively liable and fined.
