How Belarusians United To Save Their State 100 Years Ago

At the First All-Belarusian Congress, delegates having very different views agreed to struggle for independence.

The Belarusian People's Republic and the Soviet Socialist Republic. An event that Belarusians do not pay too much attention to and do not appreciate at the state level, has become the impetus for their establishment, the report of Belsat says.

100 years ago, on December 18 (December 5 in the Julian calendar), the First All-Belarusian Congress began in the building of the city theater in Minsk (now the Yanka Kupala Theater). Despite the fact that the supporters of independence and federalization had different views, the delegates were able to agree.
