Counsellor Of Ukrainian Embassy In Minsk Declared Persona Non Grata

Igor Skvortsov declared persona non grata because of Sharoiko's case.

Igor Skvortsov, the Counsellor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk, was declared persona non grata in Belarus because of the Pavel Sharoiko's case, the detained Ukrainian journalist.

The press service of the KGB of Belarus reported that the diplomat allegedly coordinated the "intelligence activity" of the journalist, working under the disguise of a counsellor, nv.ua writes.

"Igor Skvortsov was declared persona non grata for actions incompatible with his diplomatic status," – the Belarusian Ministry said.

Earlier, the KGB of Belarus stated that the detained Ukrainian journalist Pavel Sharoiko admitted that he was a trained intelligence officer of Ukraine.

We remind, that the correspondent of the Ukrainian Radio Pavel Sharoiko was detained on suspicion of "espionage" in Minsk on October 25. On the same day, the apartment where he lived with his family – his wife Elena and their daughter – was searched.
