The politician was detained near the house late at night.

Pavel Seviarynets, the co-chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, who on October 2 was sentenced to 15 days of arrest for the "For Peaceful Belarus" rally, was detained to serve the punishment on his way home on Wednesday.

It was reported by the BCD press service with the reference to the politician’s wife.

"I was running home from work, Pavel met me, as always, gave a hug, took the bags, on the way to the house we were thinking what we would buy at the shop. At our place we bought apples, bananas, tangerines. We were hurrying home... And they took him away straight from the street, without a drop of sympathy for the pregnant woman, not allowing picking up the collected bag or saying goodbye. I got to accept a lot of things, but I cannot accept and will never accept such disrespect for a person, using any opportunity to humiliate, forbid, show their strength," – Volha Seviarynets, the politician’s wife, said.

We remind that Pavel Seviarynets was sentenced to 15 days of arrest for participation in the rally of the Belarusian National Congress "For Peaceful Belarus" against the West-2017 military exercises. He was convicted on October 2. But they did not arrest him immediately.

Uladzimir Niakliayeu has already spent seven days behind bars for participating in the rally, Mikalai Statkevich – 15. Yesterday Yauhen Afnahel, a coordinator of the European Belarus civil campaign, was detained as well.
