Minsk Belarusian Language Gymnasium №4 Director Detained

Yury Bandarenka, the director of the Minsk gymnasium № 4, was arrested at his workplace on August 18.

"He was detained in the gymnasium. The entire floor was closed, nobody was let in. The director's office was searched, two secretaries and the head teacher were witnesses to the search, – one of the employees told nn.by. – They say that it was the KGB, because someone saw the inscription on the seal ... But it may be a rumor. Nobody knows for sure. All in all, no one was talking to the gymnasium staff.

The reason of Bandarenka’s detention was not reported. The search was carried out by five men in civilian clothes. It is known that they took papers from Bandarenka’s office, at that only those, where there was something written in his own hand, not the printed ones.”

Yury Bandarenka has worked as the director of the gymnasium №4 since 1997. His teaching experience is 45 years.

There is no official information about Bandarenka’s detention yet.
