On August 25, 1991 Belarus became an independent state legally.

Hundreds of years of the Belarusian people’s struggle for independence ended in victory on August 25, 1991, when the Supreme Council of the BSSR granted the Declaration of the State Sovereignty the force of a Constitutional law. Since that day, Belarus became an independent state legally. The process of its recognition as a sovereign state by the countries of the world started several days later.

Alongside with that, the activity of the Communist party of the BSSR was finally terminated at this very session of the Supreme Council (the first parliamentary session, which started with carrying the white-red-white flag in).

To commemorate those glorious events of the Belarusian history, the Young Front invites all patriots to take part in the festive street rally under the white-red-white flags along the Independence Avenue.

The participants will gather near Yanka Kupala monument at 6 p.m. on August 25. From there, they will start the rally under the white-red-white flags along the Independence Avenue, where dozens thousand Belarusians insisted that the Supreme Council must proclaim independence, 25 years ago.

Apart from this, the Young Front calls on Belarusians to take pictures with the white-red-white flags on the festive day of August 25, and publish them in the social networks with a hash tag #незалежнасьці25 (independence25)
