“The head of the guards shift demanded we should either ask permission for conducting the picket from his bosses or leave the territory,” – participant of the picket, member of Tatsiana Malashchanka’s initiative group Mikalaj Padhaiski has told Radio Racyja.

“We said we needed no extra permit, according to the legislation. There was an argument. The guard called the police. Everyone made phone calls, trying to figure something out. In the end they found out we were right and no one had a right to chase us away. We continued our picket. The policeman took our side. The guard quietly left,” – the activist has told.

According to human rights defender Aliaksandr Vaitseshyk, the policeman who was there during the incident, behaved calmly and politely, unlike the head of the guard service.
