Belarus Among Leaders With Regard To Prices Growth Again

Belarus has occupied the second place among the former USSR countries with regard to the growth of consumer prices in January-April 2016.

The analysis of the data provided by the national statistical bodies, conducted by BelaPAN news agency, reveals this.

In Belarus, consumer prices have grown by 6,4% in four months. The situation seems worse only in Azerbaijan (6,8%), followed by Ukraine (5,1%), Kazakhstan (3,6%), Russia, Tajikistan (2,5% each), Estonia (1,4%), Lithuania (0,9%), Latvia (0,6%), Armenia, Georgia and Moldova ( 0,1% each). The prices have gone down in Kyrgyzstan (by 1,9%). In Turkmenistan, they have published the data for the first quarter – the prices have grown by 0,57%. There is no information on Uzbekistan in this regard. The self-proclaimed Transdniester, which has its own financial system, has recorded the growth of prices by 0,67% in January-April.

In the end of January, Belarus was the third with 1,9%, in January-February it proceeded to the second place with 4,8%, and it was also the second in the end of the first quarter — 5,7%.

In April 2016, Belarus with the prices growth of 0,7% got the second place after Ukraine (3,5%). Then there came Kazakhstan (0,6%), Lithuania (0,5%), Latvia, Russia, Tajikistan (0,4% each) and Azerbaijan (0,2%). In Moldova and Estonia prices remained unchanged. The prices went down in Armenia (by 0,3%), Georgia (0,6%) and Kyrgyzstan (0,7%).
