2016 World Cup of Hockey finished on May 22.

According to “Pressball,” the Sports Minister Aliaksandr Shamko was critical of the way the Belarusian hockey team performed at the World Cup in Russia, where our team didn’t manage to leave the group with only two victories - over Slovakia and over France.

“Certainly, the industry will make adequate conclusions in the nearest future. The management of the federation will also assess the results. The most important thing that one must understand is that none of the fans was satisfied. Yes, maybe 7-8 years ago we could be pleased that we remained in the top division, but not now. The championship was frankly a disaster. There were several reasons for that. A detailed analysis is being held now. However, I do not call to go overboard about it, and to get ready for the Olympic qualification. Players need to regain their reputation there,” – Minister of Sport Aliaksandr Shamko said.

We remind that on May 22, the Canadian Team won the World Hockey Cup 2016.
