An obvious distortion of priorities has taken place in the social welfare state.

In 2016 more than $800 mln have been allocated to maintenance and development of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Defence Minister of Belarus Andrei Raukou had said today, BelTA reports.

“It is a little more than $800 mln in direct figures this year,” – Andrei Raukou said about the budget money allocated for maintenance and development of the Armed Forces.

This sum is much more than had been included in the state budget in 2016, charter97.org reports. It is written in the document that expenses for the national defence are to make a little more than Br9 trillion, that is, $448 million in equivalent. It is almost half as much as the sum announced b Raukou.

Moreover, in the social welfare state the expenses on the armed forces by far exceed the expenses on education and public health care. In 2016 it is planned to spend $410 million and $377.6 million on these spheres respectively.
