Lukashenka's ideologist, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Belaruskaya Dumka Vadzim Hihin was appointed Dean of the Philosophy and Social Sciences Department, BSU.

Dean’s office confirmed that to Nasha Niva.

38 years old Vadzim Hihin was born in Minsk. He graduated from the Historical department of BSU. As a postgraduate he defended the thesis “Formation of a one-party system in Belarus (1917-1925)”.

He worked in the press service of the General Prosecutor's office (subordinate of propagandist Yury Azarenka); he was the first secretary of the Minsk city organization Belarusian Republican Youth Union.

He has been editing the magazine Belaruskaya Dumka, founded by the Lukashenka’s administration, for the last eight years. Hihin was on the list of Belarusian officials and journalists, against whom the European Union issued travel bans.

At one time Hihin expressed his admiration for the personality of the Vilna governor Muraviev the Hangman:

“Maybe my choice is a little bit unusual, but I have always been impressed by Vilna Governor General Mikhail Nikolayevich Muravyov, who crushed the uprising in 1863. I thoroughly examined his biography. He was an outstanding person, administrator, leader who can be an example for any state figure.”

In recent years Vadzim Hihin was also an ONT anchor.
