Minsk Talks Produce Zero Result and Situation Escalates, Bezsmertny Says

Minsk talks of the contact group on settlement of the situation in Donbas always switch to emotional ones and are of counter-productive nature.

Roman Bezsmertny, Ukraine’s representative in political sub-group of Trilateral contact group, told on Belarus 5 TV channel.

“Destabilization (political situation in Ukraine – editor’s note) plays an important role and it found reflection in discussions. Talks continue, but they are of counter-productive nature,” he noted.

According to him, all talks switch to emotional ones, so there is a zero result.

“If we take yesterday, as an example, I was told for half a day what things I should tell the media. Moreover, it was illustrated with extracts from radio and TV interviews…All that happens at the negotiation table and boundary delimitation is of counter-productive nature. Due to the fact that security policy component, being the key to a dialogue, is not solved, it is escalated and the result of these negotiations equals to almost nothing,” Bezsmertny said.
