Rymasheuski: Europeans Plant Delay-Action Bomb Removing Sanctions Against Lukashenka

EU policy towards Belarus should be based on the value basis.

Co-chairman of the party Belarusian Christian Democracy Vital Rymasheuski stated that after the meeting with the representatives of the Visegrad countries.

The politician believes that “the sanctions against the top of the Belarusian authorities are most likely to be cancelled on Monday.” “It is not a fact, everything will be decided following the results of the vote. The representatives of virtually all the democratic forces at the meeting were unanimous in their opinion that the sanctions could not be cancelled before the parliamentary elections,“ – Rymasheuski told BelaPAN.

According to him, European politicians want to give Belarusian authorities a chance, to believe their promises.

“I'd really appreciate if EU policies were value-based, for the European Union not to choose between the stable authoritarian regime on the border with Europe and the democratization of our country. Choosing the relationship with the Belarusian authorities, the European politicians plant a delay-action bomb in the center of Europe,“ – the co-chairman of the organizing committee of BCD considers.
