Authorities Claim Making Advance Payment For Russian Gas

Belarus has conducted an advance payment for the Russian gas supply.

PM’s Spokesman Uladzislau Sychevich has informed this to the BelTA news agency.

“In October 2016, principle agreements were reached and concrete mechanisms were developed to solve the sore issues in the oil and gas sphere, at the level of the governments of Belarus and Russia. However, the realization thereof delayed, - Uladzislau Sychevich has noted. – Belarus is interested in the soonest possible solution of the current situation, in connection with which we made the advanced payment for the natural gas, as the first step and the gesture of goodwill.”

The Spokesman has added: “Belarus counts on the same goodwill from the Russian side in the form of an early recovery in crude oil supplies to Belarus, determined by the existing intergovernmental agreements ".
