Belarus needs as many law enforcement officers as it is required in accordance with the real situation.

State Secretary of the Security Council Stanislau Zas has informed this in a TV-program “Main Air”. The interview with him was shown by the “Belarus 1” TV-channel in the evening on December 25.

Zas has told about the optimization in the force structures. He has said that the optimization is being conducted under Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s demand: “The state leader harshly demands we should get rid of everything which was made up, all the excess functions and low-priority tasks. We should get rid of everything without which it remains possible to work and fulfill our primary tasks as intended," — the official has clarified.

He has added that laid-offs among the law enforcement officers are carried out gradually and steadily. Zas has also outlined the main goal of such measures: “We see the main goal (it has also been defined by the state leader): we should have as many security officials, as our country requires given the current situation.”
