Svyatoslav Vakarchuk Dedicated Song To Pavel Sheremet At His Concert In Minsk

Today, during the Minsk concert of the popular Ukrainian rock band "Okean Elzy" in the Minsk Arena, band leader Svyatoslav Vakarchuk dedicated his song "Moment" to well-known Belarusian journalist Pavel Sheremet, recently killed in Kiev.

"I have many friends from Belarus, – he said. – And they all are very nice people. We get to talk together, to spend time. I had one such friend, a frater, with whom we talked not so often, but who brought a lot to my life. This is a true son of the Belarusian people, a man who is terribly respected and loved in Ukraine, this is your countryman – Pavel Sheremet, whom I want to dedicate this song. All Ukraine is proud of him. Liudzmila Stanislavauna, we are all with you, and thank you for such a son."

Vakarchuk said that Sheremet was close to him. According to nn.by, at the end of the song, a lot of people stood up, the whole arena was shining with mobile phones’ lights.
