Grade Book With Mark Shahal’s Grades Found In Vitsebsk

The National Historical Archives of Belarus has publicized the unique document.

For the 1903-1904 years, internationally renowned artist Mark Shahal during his studies at the Vitsebsk city school had an annual assessment of only ... a “four with a minus” (on a five-point system). This follows from the Vitsebsk city school “Grade Register”.

A photograph of a rare document was posted in social networks by the National Historical Archives of Belarus.

By the way, the document reveals that Shahal couldn’t do neither geometry nor geography or history at school. The future genius got a “five” only for behavior
