Azarenka withdraws from Wuhan Open Sport

Belarus' number one Victoria Azarenka retired with a leg injury in her second round of the Wuhan Open in China.

The world number 23 withdrew being down 6-4, 1-0 against Johanna Konta of the UK, the current World No.66. In the opener the Belarusian beat World No.74 Lauren Davis of the United States 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). Johanna Konta will next face either Romanian 2nd seed Simona Halep or World No.32 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia.

World No.102 Alexandra Sasnovich of Belarus will start against Slovenia's Polona Hercog (World No.63) at the Tashkent Open on 29 September. The tournaments in Wuhan and Tashkent will finish on 3 October.
