Dave Lewis to stay with Team Belarus as head coach

The Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation has reached a preliminary agreement with Canadian specialist Dave Lewis on continuing his work as a head coach of the Belarusian national team.

The Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation (BIHF) Igor Rachkovsky told media on 31 July.

“Dave Lewis is expected to arrive in Belarus on 13 August. The agreement on the continuation of his work as a head coach of the national team has been reached. A new contract will be signed once the Canadian specialist comes to Belarus,” said Igor Rachkovsky.

According to the BIHF head, a long-term contract has been signed with assistant head coach of the Belarusian national team Vladimir Bure. Igor Rachkovsky added and Vladimir Bure would also perform the role of a counselor to the BIHF Chairman. The coaching staff will include foreign specialists Michael Lehner and Craig Woodcroft. Dave Lewis will be also assisted by Oleg Antonenko and Andrei Mezin.
