The scandal caused by invitation of the Belarusian dictator Alyaksandr Lukashenka to a football match on September 5 in Lviv is gaining momentum.

After the loud statement with a protest against invitation of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, signed by community leaders of Galicia, the political party “Civil Position” expressed discontent as well, Radio Racyja informs.

A deputy from Lviv Volodymyr Girnyak officially stated: “As a deputy of Lviv city council I am surprised and indignant at the initiative of Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi to invite the last dictator of Europe Alyaksandr Lukashenka to the football match Ukraine – Belarus in our city.”

Volodymyr Girnyak reminded that despite the support to Ukraine in word, Alyaksandr Lukashenka is increasing the number of Russian military bases on the territory of Belarus, which poses additional threat to Ukraine. Addressing the session of Lviv city council, Volodymyr Girnyak officially demanded to withdraw the invitation of Lviv city mayor to the Belarusian ruler.
