The Belarusian ruler will visit Ufa, where two international summits open on Wednesday.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka is expected to attend two international summits – the meetings of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). Both events will be held in Russian Ufa. Russia holds chairmanship in these organisations this year. Belarus is not a member of the organisations, but it hopes to receive observer status in SCO, RIA Novosti reports.

Participants of the summits plan to discuss current issues of international politics as well as economic and financial issues. Lukashenka is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings, including a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
