Belarusian authorities provoke new wave of inflation

Populist decisions before the "elections" will finally turn into growth of prices.

Since August budget of minimum subsistence level will be increased by more than 6%. Thus, the sum of welfare benefits will be increased. Last week the government informed about increase of pensions. It is not clear where the government will take money from while decline in Belarusian economy. Economist Leanid Zlotnikau stated that, Radio Racyja reports.

- The number of products is increasing. If people are given more money, it means prices will grow. The economy does not allow increasing wages. It will turn into inflation, monetary depreciation, he said.

Belsat has recently launched the results of Belarusian economy. They show 3.3% decrease of gross domestic product, but not an increase.
