Former Finance Minister of Belarus Andrei Kharkavets died

Andrei Kharkavets, ahe former Finance Minister of Belarus, died after an extended illness.

BelTA has been informed about that by the Belarusian government.

“Today after an extended illness Andrei Kharkavets leftthis life. The funeral service is to take place on July 24 in the building of Minsk concert hall,” the government informed.

Anderi Kharkavets will be buried at the civil cemetery of Zhdanovichy settlement.

Andrei Kharkavets was born in 1963 in Minsk. In 1985 he graduated from the Belarusian State Institute of National Economy, in 2006 – the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus. Since 1985 he held different positions of the Finance Ministry – from senior economist to the first deputy minister. In 2008-2014 he was Finance Minister of Belarus.
