Imprisoned foster mother Iryna Motsnaya asks for help

Iryna Motsnaya wrote to Tatsiana Seviarynets, a coordinator of the organising committee to create the Belarusian Christian Democracy party in the Vitsebsk region, charter97.org learnt from the committee's press office.

Foster mother Iryna Motsnaya was deprived of the right to raise six adopted children in 2014 after her husband Viktor's suicide. A criminal case was opened against the former foster mother. She was accused of abuse of power, restricting personal liberty and assault.

The trial was held behind closed door. The woman underwent a hypertensive crisis at the trial. She was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment.
