Barys Zhaliba on secret Lukashenka's orders: It shows a hopeless situation

Barys Zhaliba, professor and Doctor of Economics, told about an affect-to-be of semi-secret Lukashenka's orders on enterprises.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed a few decrees to stabilize financial and economic activity of MTZ and Gomselmash suffering serious problems with sales.

Barys Zhaliba told Salidarnasts about the effect of such initiative.

- It shows that the situation is hopeless. If any assistance to these enterprises is not provided, then they will close down operations. There is no revenue. Sales to Russia and Ukraine decreased. These enterprises have a lot of credits and are not able to settle previous debts. I think that banks were ordered to allow credits. Our flagship enterprises have reached the point when the state support is vital, the economist explained.

The state support is considered significant:

- This money is enough for not to suspend production, pay some salaries and, thus, to avoid protests and tensions in society.

The economist believes that the state support is enough only for short-time tasks resolution, more long-term prospects do not encourage much optimism:

- Nothing still proves that the situation in the Russian market is to change for the better. Considering that it is our key sales market, so they themselves have almost nothing to hope for.
