Belarus' Tsurkin collects 50m freestyle gold in Gwangju

Yevgeny Tsurkin of Belarus won the gold medal in Men's 50m Freestyle at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea on 10 July.

The Belarusian was two seconds ahead of Brazil's Henrique De Souza Martins (22.24). The bronze went to Paul Powers of the United States (22.34).

It was the third podium finish for Yevgeny Tsurkin. The Belarusian bagged the 100m butterfly bronze and the 50m butterfly silver.

Other medal winners for Belarus were hammer throwers Pavel Boreisha (silver) and Sergei Kolomoyets (bronze), double sculls duet Tatiana Klimovich and Kristina Staroselets (bronze).
