Activists of European Belarus arrested

Maksim Viniarski, coordinator of European Belarus, is sentenced to 10-day arrest, Siarhei Matskoitsia - to 5 days.

Today, June 22, Minsk District Court (Maiakouskaha Str., 119a) has tried a case of Maksim Viniarski and Siarhei Matskoitsia, HRC Viasna informs.

They were detained on Friday for posting a banner "Freedom to Yury Rubtsou!" on the exit from Lahoiski tract and drawn up administrative protocols against.

At the weekend they were placed in the Minsk district remand prison.

As it became known, Siarhei Matskoistia was charged with order violation and holding of mass events (Art. 23.34, para. 1 of the Administrative Code) and sentenced to 5 days of administrative arrest.

Maksim Viniarski was tried under paragraph 3 of the same Article - further violation. Judge Harelau sentenced him to 10-day arrest.

The trial of Leanid Harelau is postponed until June 23 after lawyer's motion to subpoena four witnesses. Kulakou was released from the court room.

As it became known, Siarhei Matskoistia was charged with order violation and holding of mass events (Art. 23.34, para 1 of the Administrative Code) and sentenced to 5 days of administrative arrest.
