Administrator of Mahilou meat packing plant's shop stole billions from cash register

The Investigation Committee opened a criminal case in connection with stealing money by an executive official and abuse of power.

The administrator of a shop owned by the Mahilou meat packing plant was detained as a suspect, charter97.org learnt from the Investigation Committee's press service.

The criminal case was opened on the basis of materials obtained by officers of the economic crime department of the police department of the Mahilou regional executive committee.

Being an executive official that carries out organisational, management and administrative functions, the shop administrator, together with other employees, used her office to steal money, which were received as sales proceeds, from a cash register of the shop for a long time.

The administrator documented product returns on various grounds to conceal the thefts.

The shop administrator has been charged. She is held in custody until trial.

The amount of the damage is being established. According to preliminary estimates, it may reach several billion rubles.

All measures to compensate for the damage are being taken.

Investigators have sound grounds to suspect other persons to be involved in the crime.
