Information Ministry blocks access to kyky.org

The Ministry of Information of Belarus blocked access to kyky.org.

The information is provided by the Ministry's official site.

"According to Law of the Republic of Belarus from July 17, 2008 "On Mass Media", on June 15 the Ministry of Information of Belarus decided to block the access to the Internet resource kyky.org in view of information, which can cripple national interests of the Republic of Belarus (Article 38, paragraph 1, subparagraph 1.3)", the statement says.

"A number of articles on the website contain disparaging words against Victory Day - National holiday of the Republic of Belarus, its citizens, participating in it. The site also challenges its meaning in history, thus it miscolors the truth about the Great Patriotic War. Kyky.org used taboo words, disparaging, sometimes insulting, remarks against certain social groups, nationalities and religious denominations as well", the statement says.
