Belarus is discussing the state debt refinancing with Russia.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka said it in an interview with Bloomberg that was aired on Belarusian television on Thursday, Prime agency writes.

Belarus received 2 billion dollars of financial aid from Russia in 2014. Minsk and Moscow signed an agreement in March 2015 on issuing Belarus a financial loan of 110 million dollars. Lukashenka said the talks with Russia on the debt refinancing were in progress.

Answering the question if Belarus plans to take a new loan from Russia to pay its debt, the ruler said the country could either take a new loan or postpone payments in 2015, which means refinancing.

He noted that Belarus is able to perform its financial obligations even without debt refinancing or restructuring. Belarus's budget is made in such a way to allow paying 2.5-3 billion dollars in 2015 even without refinancing, Lukashenka said.
